Books & Books and the ACLU Host Panel Discussion On Vamos A Cuba U.S. Supreme Court Case

MIAMI – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida and Books & Books will host a dynamic panel discussion about the Miami-Dade School library book censorship case involving Vamos a Cuba and an entire series of travel books for children that is now before the United States Supreme Court. Participants include former Miami-Dade School Board member Evelyn Greer, who had opposed the School Board’s decision ordering the removal of the books and is speaking out about the controversy for the first time; University of Miami Law professor JoNel Newman and ACLU Legal Director Randall Marshall, the ACLU attorneys who brought the case to the Supreme Court; and Mitch Kaplan, representing The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression.
