When due process and our Constitutional rights come under attack, it is our responsibility as Americans to take a stand against injustice. We must recognize that though we may not be a member of the underinvested and oppressed communities, we must make a concerted effort to better understand their struggles and support them.
In order to live in united communities, we have to understand that we are all affected when any one person or group is not receiving fair or equal treatment under the law. This is why it is so important to not only learn and understand people’s rights but to advocate for immigrant justice- because as Dr. Martin Luther King famously said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
