On Tuesday, September 13, join us for the next conversation in our racial justice series entitled, "Empowering Communities by Any Means Necessary," with Dyrell Johnson, community leader, social and cultural activist, entrepreneur, community organizer, and multi-media personality.
Dyrell Johnson, better known as Rell Black, is a community leader in Volusia County. Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Rell is a social and cultural activist, entrepreneur, community organizer, and multi-media personality. He works in radio, print, digital, and online streaming media. Rell is committed to social justice by being a voice for the voiceless by any means necessary. Inspired by the works of Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey, his passion for community development, youth empowerment, and cultural enrichment led him to establish the nonprofit organization, Community Healing Project, Inc. The organization is dedicated to promoting education, economics, and health awareness to children and families in urban communities. Community Healing Project has served over 5,000 families in five states with initiatives and social outreach work.
During our conversation, Rell will discuss his organization's unconventional journey over the past five years, highlighting successes and challenges his team has faced in the pursuit of empowering communities.
RSVP if you can make it. See you there.
