Latinos are living expressions of their heritage. They carry the stories, cultures, and journeys that make up Florida’s diverse Hispanic community. For some, this month acknowledges their resilience and search for opportunity as immigrants. For others, it creates a sense of pride in their generational Latinx roots in the United States. No matter how long their journeys in our country, the cultural and personal impact of Latinx Americans runs deep in all corners of our society. And while no personal experience is the same within this vastly diverse group, it’s the common thread of the Hispanic/Latinx heritage is made up of resilience, community and hope that brings everyone together.
With more than 5 million Hispanic and Latinx people living in our state, it is critical we continue to make Florida a better place to live for all people.
