The League of Women Voters of Florida and the Florida State Conference of the NAACP filed suit in federal court today against Florida’s Secretary of State, charging that the state’s voter registration application violates the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA).
On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 450 (SB 450). This bill reintroduces unconstitutional non-unanimous jury recommendations for the death penalty. Florida will now have the dubious distinction of having the lowest threshold for death sentencing in the country.
