Sara Latshaw first joined the ACLU of Florida in March 2012 as Regional Organizer of Northwest Florida. She focuses on developing, organizing, and implementing advocacy campaigns for the LGBT community and other ACLU priority issues. Though Sara has called Pensacola home for most of her life, travel and movement were a huge part of her Navy-influenced upbringing. This movement landed her in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she founded and developed two nonprofit organizations: Cultural Canvas Thailand and Art Relief International. There she worked to promote equality and social change for Burmese refugees, tribal people, women and people with disabilities. Sara attended university at New College of Florida where she studied Biology and Chemistry and wrote an HIV/AIDS-related biochemistry thesis.
