LAKELAND, Fla. – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida, the Rose Heights Elks Lodge and Temple, the Lakeland Branch of the NAACP, and The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC) will be holding two free workshops on Florida’s Restoration of Civil Rights (“RCR”) process on Saturday, December 18, 2010. at the workshops are free and open to the public, and will be held at The Rose Heights Elks Lodge at 1026 Texas Avenue in Lakeland, FL.

The first workshop, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will train volunteers to assist people through the civil rights restoration process.
The second, from Noon to 1:30 p.m., will train individuals on the process of sealing and expunging state criminal records.

The civil rights restoration trainings offered by ACLU and other organizations have been successful throughout the state of Florida in assisting over 115,000 applicants with the RCR process, and sealing and expunging their records.
