OCALA, Fla. – According to a report issued earlier this year by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida, Still Voteless and Voiceless in Florida: Florida’s Continuing Disenfranchisement Crisis, over one million Floridians are still barred from voting due to a past felony conviction. Several local organizations in central Florida are hosting a workshop on June 6, 2009 to assist individuals with restoring their civil rights.
WHAT:
Training for Civil Rights Restoration Volunteers to help others restore their
rights; Workshop to assist individuals with filling out the forms to restore their civil rights and to answer questions related to the rights restoration process.
