Kenneth Gelok is Director of Philanthropy for the ACLU of Florida since August 2024. He recently served as Vice President for Westside Capital Group based in Coral Gables, Florida and has over a decade of non-profit experience.
Prior to joining Westside, he served as the Director of Development for Strategic Initiatives for the Florida International University Foundation. In this role, he led strategic planning initiatives and provided operational support and oversight for a capital campaign that raised in excess of $750 million where he engaged with key constituents to build programs and secure philanthropic contributions. He was integral in evaluating cross-collaborative programs for external funding opportunities and working with program directors to ensure project success.
At FIU, he also served as Director of Development for the FIU College of Law where he was responsible for securing and stewarding over $5 million in philanthropic support from individuals, law firms, and philanthropic grants. He was also responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan aligned with the university and college's internal and external objectives. In this capacity, he worked with the leadership of the FIU College of Law Clinics including the Carlos A. Costa Immigration & Humans Rights Clinic, Death Penalty Clinic, and Community Lawyering Clinic to identify and help secure funding opportunities matching their programmatic needs. Serving as an external advocate, he was also in regular communication with community stakeholders, donors, and alumni to increase the profile of the college.
Prior to joining FIU, in 2010 he managed a successful campaign for the Florida Senate. In 2008, Kenneth graduated from FIU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Government. In 2021, he attained a certificate in Management Leadership from the FIU College of Business.
